After a period of reorganization and strategic planning, Tax-Filer Empowerment Canada is excited to announce our return in 2026. We remain committed to our mission of empowering Canadian taxpayers and advocating for fair and accessible tax filing systems across the country.
With renewed energy and a strengthened focus, we look forward to continuing our work alongside our members and partners to support taxpayers and advance digital tax solutions that benefit all Canadians.
DID YOU KNOW?
The software that allows Canadians to file their taxes electronically was developed by TFEC members.
Nearly 88% of Canadians now file their taxes electronically through tax preparers or tax software.
The Canada Revenue Agency’s creation of a digital portal for the submission of electronic tax returns further enables the Canada Revenue Agency to focus its resources on critical functions which only a tax administrator can perform: assessment, investigation, and enforcement.
WHO WE ARE
Tax-Filer Empowerment Canada (TFEC) is an 8-member national industry association comprised of Canada’s leading tax preparation and software firms.
Formed in 2018, TFEC was created to promote a greater collaboration between government stakeholders such as the Canada Revenue Agency, the tax preparation and software industry, and Canadians.
